Salary Range: $85,000 – $95,000 annually

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Capacity Planner to join our Planning team within the Manufacturing and Depot Operations department. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed capacity models that align demand with available labor, machinery, and materials. This position plays a critical role in ensuring execution aligns with production intent, particularly within a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.

You will work closely with program planners, value stream managers, and operational leadership to proactively address constraints and drive continuous improvement across multiple product lines. This is a strategic, data-driven role that directly impacts cost efficiency and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Capacity Modeling & Analysis

• Build and maintain short- and long-range capacity models based on actual labor, equipment, and material availability.
• Convert program schedules into detailed resource demand forecasts.
• Identify and escalate capacity bottlenecks across work cells, machines, and teams.

Scenario Planning

• Simulate and assess various production scenarios (e.g., demand surges, labor shifts, machine downtime).
• Recommend load leveling, sequencing, and balancing strategies for optimized throughput.

Collaboration & Integration

• Work with planners to ensure program schedules reflect true operational capacity.
• Partner with manufacturing, finance, and value stream leaders to ensure accuracy of assumptions and alignment with real-world performance.

Execution Support

• Provide weekly insights on capacity vs. load across all value streams.
• Support Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) alignment and capacity readiness reviews.

Continuous Improvement

• Drive improvements in labor standards, routing accuracy, and MRP inputs by identifying planning-execution disconnects.
• Develop visual dashboards and tools that promote data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in capacity or production planning within a manufacturing or job-shop environment.
• Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems; SAP S4 preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable plans.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Familiarity with AS9100/AS6500 standards preferred (not required).
• Must have experience in high-mix, low-volume environments (custom/complex builds).
