Family Law Attorney – Recent Need | Metuchen, NJ
A well-established law firm in Metuchen, NJ is actively seeking a Family Law Attorney to join its dynamic and compassionate legal team. This recent opening is ideal for an attorney with 1–6 years of experience in family law who thrives in emotionally nuanced cases and is committed to client advocacy in sensitive legal matters.
This role offers the opportunity to build a long-term practice while working closely with experienced attorneys in a collegial and client-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, custody, alimony, and child support disputes
• Draft and file legal pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and parenting plans
• Conduct legal research and analysis on statutes, case law, and court procedures
• Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and collaborative law processes
• Prepare clients for hearings and represent them in court proceedings
• Maintain strong communication with clients while guiding them through legal complexities
Qualifications:
• 1–6 years of experience in family law, including courtroom advocacy and negotiations
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Licensed and in good standing with the New Jersey State Bar
• Proven ability to manage multiple cases and maintain deadline discipline
• Empathy, discretion, and professionalism in dealing with personal legal matters
Skills:
• Proficiency in legal writing, case management, and client communication
• Strong negotiation and mediation experience
• Familiarity with New Jersey family law statutes and court rules
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with firm colleagues
