Job Description

Position: Banking Systems Analyst

Job Summary

The Banking Systems Analyst will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and operational support of application systems for a Japanese bank in the U.S. This role involves coordinating with both local and overseas teams, solving software-related issues, managing system documentation, and supporting end users through Help Desk services. Bilingual in English and Japanese (Native-level English is expected; Business-level Japanese is acceptable)

Manhattan Midtown, NY (Hybrid – 2 days in office)

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for system implementation and operational support for a Japanese bank in the U.S.
  • Solve software requirements by analyzing, creating, designing, modifying, and maintaining application systems to meet user needs.
  • Contribute to team efforts and communicate with stakeholders both in the U.S. and Japan.
  • Provide Help Desk support (Tier 1 – Tier 2).

The right candidate will possess

  • Understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
  • Business knowledge of the banking industry, as well as development skills and experience in the banking field
  • Previous Help Desk support experience

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in system application implementation
  • Strong analytical skills in requirements analysis, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Intermediate ability to read and write SQL (required)
  • Bilingual in English and Japanese (Native-level English is expected; Business-level Japanese is acceptable)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Banking knowledge is a plus, but not essential

Salary Range

$77,000 – $94,000 per year

Working Hours

  • Core hours: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (1 hour unpaid lunch break)
  • Actual hours may vary depending on business needs
  • In-person attendance: 2 days per week required
