General Liability Attorney

Location: Austin,Texas (Hybrid with occasional office travel required)

Salary: $100,000 - $185,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

Overview:

A well-established law firm in Austin, TX are seeking a talented and experienced General Liability Attorney to join its team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an attorney with broad civil litigation experience, particularly in general liability, to work with a diverse range of clients, including small businesses and large corporations. The firm offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing flexibility to work remotely while maintaining occasional in-office presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle a broad range of general liability cases, including premises liability, auto accidents, product liability, and construction accidents.
  • Represent clients in all stages of litigation, from pre-suit investigation and pleadings to discovery, motions, and trial preparation.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including complaints, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients on risk management, liability issues, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Advise clients on settlement strategies and negotiate favorable outcomes.
  • Work closely with other attorneys and support staff to provide comprehensive and efficient legal services.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • 3-7 years of experience in civil litigation, with a strong focus on general liability.
  • Experience working with both small businesses and large corporate clients is a plus.
  • Texas Bar required.
  • Strong litigation experience, including trial preparation, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly to clients.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team in a fast-paced environment.
