Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join our Power Systems team , focused on designing high-voltage (HV) interconnect solutions — including busbars, connectors, and related assemblies — for electric powertrain applications such as motors, inverters, DC/DC converters, and battery packs.

This role requires strong mechanical design expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and a background in taking components from concept through validation to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of HV power interconnect components (e.g., busbars, connectors, assemblies) for use in EV propulsion and battery systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams (CAD, CAE, Testing, Validation, Manufacturing) to ensure product integrity and production readiness.
• Translate customer specifications into manufacturable component designs.
• Generate fully functional 3D models suitable for tooling and prototyping.
• Work with CAD teams to produce detailed GD&T drawings and tolerance stack-ups.
• Participate in or lead DFMEA , DVP&R , and DOE planning.
• Coordinate with simulation teams on mechanical and thermal analyses (FEA, Joule heating, molding simulations).
• Support DFM/DFA reviews and interface directly with suppliers during component sourcing and development.
• Oversee product validation, testing, and production ramp-up including PPAP , packaging design, and in-line functional testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering (Electrical Engineering is a plus).
• 8+ years of experience in HV component design within the automotive or power electronics industry.
• Proficient with CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA V5, or NX .
• Familiarity with FEA and CFD tools and interpretation.
• Experience with busbar and connector design, metal stamping, and plastic molding.
• Knowledge of DFMEA , GD&T , tolerance analysis , and product lifecycle management .
• Hands-on experience with prototyping , production tooling , and design validation .
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional global teams.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 10%).
