About the role

Toyota Financial Services is seeking a Distinguished Architect, Cloud Platforms to define and lead the strategy, design, and implementation of our modern cloud architecture. Reporting directly to the Chief Architect, this is the most senior technical individual contributor role within our enterprise architecture organization, focused on building a secure, scalable, and automated AWS foundation that enables innovation across the company.

This highly visible, hands-on role blends deep AWS expertise with strategic leadership and cross-functional influence. You will shape the future of our enterprise cloud ecosystem, partnering with engineering, platform, security, and governance teams to deliver resilient, cost-effective, and compliant cloud solutions at scale.

What you’ll be doing

• Define and evolve the enterprise AWS Cloud Landing Zone strategy, including account architecture, IAM, networking, tagging, and security guardrails
• Design and build scalable, reusable platform automation patterns for infrastructure provisioning, compliance, and governance
• Establish and enforce Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation
• Collaborate with engineering, platform, and architecture teams to deliver secure and scalable multi-account, multi-region AWS environments
• Lead the adoption of serverless computing and event-driven architecture using AWS technologies like Lambda, Step Functions, and EventBridge
• Develop and maintain patterns for automated cloud governance and compliance using tools such as AWS Config, SCPs, and Control Tower
• Drive evaluation and Proof-of-Concept initiatives for emerging AWS services and new cloud-native capabilities
• Mentor engineers, architects, and platform teams across the organization, and serve as a strategic advisor on cloud architecture best practices

​ What you bring

• 10+ years of experience in AWS cloud architecture
• Proven experience designing, implementing, and evolving enterprise-scale Cloud Landing Zones
• Advanced hands-on skills with Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, and CI/CD automation practices
• Strong knowledge of multi-region design, secure AWS patterns, and platform resiliency
• Experience influencing architectural decisions across engineering, platform, security, and governance domains
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to present complex technical strategies to executive stakeholders

Added bonus if you have

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent certifications
• Experience with VPC Lattice, PrivateLink, Aurora Global, or similar advanced AWS networking/database solutions
• Familiarity with AWS AI/ML services (e.g., SageMaker, Bedrock) or cloud-native ML pipelines
• Knowledge of cloud-native streaming and event-processing platforms like Kinesis or Apache Kafka
• Experience building cost-optimized, automated provisioning pipelines using modern CI/CD workflows
• Exposure to enterprise FinOps, tagging strategy enforcement, and chargeback models
